Thank you Dad!

This is dad’s special day and I just wanted to say thank you today to my father and grandpa who have always been there to love and support me.  Thank you Dad for all you have done for me throughout my life, like coaching my soccer teams for many years, and continue to do for me.  My dad continues to fly up whenever needed to help with childcare for my kids. I am extremely blessed that you are willing to help out at the drop of a hat without question for whatever I need.

To all the amazing dads everywhere, hope your day is wonderful and filled with love and laughter!

1.  Card

Just like for Mother’s Day, nothing beats a Father’s Day Card from the heart.  There are so many creative card ideas.  Dad will love the card just because you got it or made it, or at least he will pretend to.  This is a great gift to DIY and a handmade card is often more precious because of the effort put into making it.  I often get my ideas from Pinterest look.  If you’ve got a Cricut cutting machine then they have tons of ready to make options all set to go.  Cricut has projects that can be made by clicking the make it now button.  Just follow the instructions.

2. Favorite Meal

My husband specifically requested his favorite meal of grilled steak for Father’s Day.  Whatever Dad’s favorite meal, food, or delicacy, consider getting and making it for his special day.  Now, if you’re not a cook, like myself, then consider taking Dad and Grandpa out to dinner for his favorite meal.  It still counts if you’re paying.  My father would probably thank me for taking him out to dinner instead of subjecting him to my cooking, ha!  Also remember that between YouTube and Pinterest there are many ways to find recipes for everything.

3.  A Good Book

No matter what dad’s tastes are, chances are good that there is a book just right for him.  Whether a science fiction or non-fiction war novel there are books to suit every taste and need.  Books are also a great last-minute gift because electronic books are instant as long as Dad has the free Kindle app on his smart phone or tablet.  Pick a category in dad’s interests and get great recommendations directly from Amazon.  There’s guaranteed to be a book just right for him that also fits into every budget.  Amazon also has tons of FREE kindle books.

4. Sporting Event Tickets

If Dad is into sports think about buying him game tickets for his favorite team or specific sport.  Most athletics tickets can now be purchased online, so buy the tickets and print them out.  Stick the tickets in a card for an awesome last-minute gift.  Maybe he’s more of a couch sports fan and a sports pay-per-view package would be more appropriate.  Either way, Dad will get a chance to truly enjoy being a Sports fan.
