Designed In Design Space

Design space allows for quick and easy editing and creation of the design(s). This very pretty circular design is from an Anna Griffin embellishment Cricut cartridge. A coworker retired and the quote found online fit the occasion perfectly. A fancy script made the names. In design space, fancy scripts need to have the letter spaces reduced and then the word WELDED in order to make them one contiguous script.

Cut Out With The Cricut Maker

I LOVE the Cricut Maker.  The maker quickly and easily cut the design out of silver adhesive foil vinyl material.  Adhesive foil is very shiny and adheres well. Unwanted excess material was removed or also known as “weeded.”

Adhesive Vinyl

For this project, the adhesive foil vinyl was all Cricut brand. I highly recommend that people price compare to get the best quality and price for all materials, especially for adhesive vinyl. The Cricut adhesive vinyl foil was purchased directly from Cricut during a sale. Amazon also has multiple options as well. Favorite non-Cricut brands include Siser and Oracal. Remember to do test cuts before cutting the design because settings may be slightly different for alternative non-Cricut brands.

Transfer Tape Application

First apply transfer tape to the top of the design. Then burnish (rub down) the transfer tape so the vinyl sticks onto the transfer tape. Then remove the paper backing and rub the adhesive vinyl onto the candle. Finally remove the transfer tape slowly at a 90 degree angle off the vinyl, leaving it behind on the candle.
