Crafting at Midnight Personalized Glitter Vinyl Sign

Crafting at Midnight Personalized Glitter Vinyl Sign

See how to make a super simple, easy, and cute glitter vinyl sign. Made these as I crafted at Midnight, for my kid’s teachers. This project took minimal time, hassle, and effort to create these unique gifts. Extra bonus is that I used glittered plate chargers I bought for 90% off at Target ($0.30 each).

The step by step process is outlined below.

Designed In Design Space

This was a super cute design made using elements from various sources. Names are made with a font off the computer, and were specifically simple and bold. The Teach, Love, inspire words are from Love SVG for FREE. The layout was made in Design Space.  I adore the FREE SVG files on Love SVG.  The designs are free for personal use (make and give, NOT sell). A commercial license can be purchased for a reasonable price for items intended to be sold.  Definitely recommend checking them out if you haven’t done so already.

The extra squiggly lines were removed from the words. Colors were changed. Hearts were added from design space free shapes.

Cut Out With The Cricut Maker

I LOVE the Cricut Maker.  The maker quickly and easily cut the design out of black and white vinyl material.  The unwanted excess material was removed or also known as “weeded.”

Adhesive Vinyl

For this project, the adhesive vinyl was all Cricut brand. I highly recommend that people price compare to get the best quality and price for all materials, and especially for adhesive vinyl. The Cricut adhesive vinyl was purchased directly from Cricut during a sale. Amazon also has multiple options as well. Favorite non-Cricut brands include Siser and Oracal. Remember to do test cuts before cutting the design because settings may be slightly different for alternative brands.

Transfer Tape Application

Transfer tape was applied to the top of the design. It was burnished (rubbed down) so the vinyl would stick onto the transfer tape. The paper backing was removed and the vinyl was then rubbed onto the glitter sign. The transfer tape was removed slowly at a 90 degree angle off the vinyl, leaving it behind on the glitter sign.
