The step by step process is outlined below.
Designed In Design Space
Original inspiration for designs were seen on Pinterest and there are multiple versions and styles. The words were customized and edited. The font is a FREE basic Cricut font. The designs were made quickly and easily in Design Space. Using a rectangle, that was later deleted, ensured the text was the right size.
Cut Out With The Cricut Maker
I LOVE the Cricut Maker. The maker quickly and easily cut out the words out of black Cricut iron on (heat transfer vinyl – HTV) material. The unwanted excess material was removed or also known as “weeded.”
Iron On With The Easy Press
Ironing on the design was super simple and was done easily as seen in the YouTube video above. Small cardboard rectangles with the corners removed worked to stabilize and flatten the socks while ironing. Using the Easy Press at 330 degrees, the design was laid out and ironed on initially for 10-15 seconds. To fully set and adhere to adhesive vinyl a final press was done after the adhesive backing was removed for 15+ seconds. A Teflon sheet was used whenever pressing in order to protect both the design and the heat press.
